Your world - Irene Capuano
Irene's art is marked by the absence of human figures; the external obsever seems to be the only character-individual of the artist's works. The impact with etchings is estranging. It's like entering a different dimension, and, even though some of them represent the places where Irene lives, she seems to have no deep connection with them.
Colours (egg tempera and oil) in her works on wooden boards are brights and well merged, instead. They communicate a warm welcome, even though human figure is excluded here too. Irene's approcach to art is cognitive. She uses art to investigate man's soul. For this reason, her landscapes are not objectively recognizable, they mirror an inner dimension which has no reference to everyday life, but vaguely outlined. It's a topography of soul.
